Beware of Wind People

Hey! How's it going?!? This week was good! We are teaching some new families, and the plan is for one family is my companion is gonna help a kid with his math homework and I'll be helping a new investigator that we have with her English! So that will be interesting. But yeah, there are a lot of people here who are ready to progress in the church and it is very exciting! I believe this change is gonna be awesome!

In other news: I AM BLOND. We were at a member's house for dinner and we took a picture with my buddy in our Ward who is going out on his missión today. I just look so blond now, it blows my mind!

Oh and funny thing this week was SUPER windy, kind of crazy we also got blown away when we were walking, and our house is the tallest house in our neighborhood and the wind was just so loud and strong that the doors we shaking really bad. It sounded like people were trying to get into our house all night. But yeah other than the wind people wanting to break into our house it was a really good week!

I hope you guys are good!

New Companion

Hello! So this week was changes and I am still in the same area, but I got a new comp! Elder Leon is from Ecuador and yeah! SO now I have had an American, a Peruvian and a Ecuadorian. But yeah, so things our looking good in our area - lots of people at church and lots of progressing people! And we had the confirmation of Juana sunday which was pretty cool. So yeah I am excited! And so 2 weird things, 1. I have been leading the area this week and teaching people more and more and speaking more and more and it just blows my mind how much I have progressed out here. 2. I can understand everything when people talk now - its crazy! And there are a lot of new people in my zone and they look to me for help. It kind of blows my mind!

Let's talk shoes. They have developed terminal cracks under the heels and have lacerations between the rubber and the leather? I think it is leather... AND the insole of the heel like broke through, so in the heel I cut a rag and put some of it in the heels so that isn't a problem, but yeah I think they have 2 to 3 weeks to live...
But yeah, everything out here is good and I am excited to be in this area for another change!

A Sweet Baptism

So this week was very good! We had our baptism a week early! And the baptism went really well and the whole ward helped which was sweet! And yeah so our new convert's name is Juana and we found her contacting one day. She knew a little bit about our church before and she made a joke about coffee and then three weeks later she was following the word of wisdom before we even taught it! So yeah she is pretty awesome. And so today is changes! so Elder Diaz is leaving to far far far way, and I am staying for at least one more change, so I get to lead the area for a while. But yeah this was a good week! Also funny story, after the baptism I was changing out of the white clothing and somehow I cut my finger pretty badly, but I didn't feel anything so I look down and my white clothing is just covered in blood. So I now know how to get blood out of clothing!

Also super funny thing about Mexico, they just sell and do whatever they want here, and there is a car that sells bread, with a song like "la paneria con el pan BEEP! BEEP!, La paneria con el pan BEEP! BEEP!" Which basically means the breadman con the bread BEEP BEEP the breadman with the bread BEEP BEEP, and I just think it is sooo funny.
But yeah I hope you guys are good!

A pup named José Smith

SO this week was good! To start off everything Tuesday morning we got a ride to our weekly meeting by our best friend, the under cover cop! He saw us because I am the only white guy for miles around, gave us a ride WITH HIS LIGHTS ON, all the way to our chapel it was great. And after the meeting the mother missionaries accidentally locked us inside of the fence at our church so we had to scale a wall, walk about 100ft and then climb down the fence, all without ripping our pants. It was rather worrying. But everything is going well in our area, and next week is changes so who knows what will happen. But out here we have officially reactivated 7 people/families which is really awesome, had one baptism and have a another for the first week in the new change, so everything is going really good! But umm oh funny story well its also kinda sad, but so here in Mexico dogs are just everywhere, and so people kinda treat them like trash, which is really sad, but so this family just threw a little puppy (pictured below (his name is Jose Smith)) out on the street and he ran over to me, after making the family feel bad for throwing away a puppy we took him over to our investigators house and gave her the puppy! Hahaha so she now has another dog :) but yeah this week was good! Also this will make you proud mom I washed ALL of my clothing the other day by hand washing them, it took like two hours! But yeah! Everything is good!

A Tasty Almuerzo [Lunch]

Hellloooo! So this week was really good! Our investigator Juana made it to church on her own this week, so that is really exciting! And she has a baptism date for the first week of the next change! And so after visiting 3 inactive families for about 3 months, each family a few times every month, they all came to church! Wooohooo!

And so my comp and I finally found a new house! We moved in this morning and it is hugeeeee, two showers, like 5 rooms, kitchen, a deck area upstairs, it is sweet, so its really exciting because we have been living outside our area of the past three months, so now we live in a colonia called Loma Linda or cute hill in English.

And so funny story for lunch one day this week my comp really wanted this certain type of meat, in Spanish it is hígado, so we arrive at lunch and start eating and the whole time I was just like, What kind of meat is this?? What am I eating??? It was liver! Bleh - it had the oddest texture. But yeah good week! I hope you guys are doing well! And attached is a picture of how dirty our shoes can get out here, and right before we left our house! Anyways....
