Alive and Kicking

So I am still alive and kicking, Spanish is getting better every day. I have gotten into the habit of every single time I dont know a word in spanish I write it down and look it up, so I carry around my dictionary all day and my invesgators all think it is funny. So it has cold and rainy here in Mexico since a little before Christmas. It is pretty horrible, the other day I had to wear my pajamas under my pants to stay warm. So Mexico has no drainage systems where I live so when it rains basically everything turns into a river so me and my campanion have gotten very good at fording rivers recently. So on Friday one of our invesgators is having a wedding! Then on Saturday is the same invesgators baptism, and then on Sunday is her confirmation! So that is exciting. But yeah life here in Mexico is sweet, and the food is super good! I hope you are doing well!

Mexico Mormons

HOLA FROM MEXICO! I hope you are doing well! I love it here, it is sooo warm and the people are awesome. They always talk about me with my compainion. It is rather odd. But I hardly understand anything unless I use all of my brain power then it is not so bad. I can talk but since understanding is so hard I just sit and look at stuff until lessons start. So one crazy adventure was the other day was super windy so! the entire sky turned brown it was gross, but yeah life is good. Mexico Mormon culture is very diffirent. I was at a christmas party at the church and it was supposed to start at 6, but then it was 7, then 8, then 9! Three hours late and we had to go home at this point so that was pretty silly. But so I have decided that contacting people is la mejor, the other night we talked to a family for about am hour and we talked about the plan of salvation, and the mother of the family shared how she has lost many people in family and how much the plan and our message meant to her, so that was sweet, EXCEPT they live like 3 hours away:( so I will never know how they turn out... But yeah I am loving it here and am super excited to be here! I hope you are doing well!

Final Week at MTC

December 11, 2013

Hello family, sorry to hear about all the snow/ice, it has been horrible in Utah - soooooo cold, like 7 degrees. Tell everyone I say Hi, I hope everyone is doing good! Yeah so my travel plans were changed on me but I should be heading out on Monday! It will be nice to be in a warmer area. The final week at the MTC has been going awesome. I am super busy but things are good. Espanol es bueno, hablo mucha espanol durante el semana entonces aprendo mucha. I saw Ben last night so that was exciting, and Quinten L. Cook came and talked to us so that was also pretty sweet. Life is still good and my bags do not weigh to much so I will be good on that front :) but yeah everything is going awesome. Okay so for my final package I am gonna need some better shoes ( yes mother you were correct the shoes I have will not last). So apparently Echos are really good, but basically I need those asap because I wont be able to get shoes in Mexico because they will get stolen before I could ever get them. And the Piano Guys make super super super awesome cds so maybe hook me up with one of those? Anyways I love you guys and I will have better stories next week!

Week Four

Alright, so first things first - thank you and please thank Nicole and Ivan ( Those ties are sweet) for the presents! I did open them because I am leaving a week early to Mexico so I have to pack and it was all kind of big, but so on monday afternoon I will be calling home and then be in Mexico! So it just snowed like 8 inchs here and Umm we have some new missionary's coming in this week so that will be fun. It is odd how everyone that was here when I came in are all gone. But every district that leaves hands down their extra food/general items so as the oldest district we got like 8 boxes of stuff it was crazy, and now I own a pair of sweet pink shorts! I just got called to be district leader so thats pretty neat. Estoy amable for Mexico, es loco perro bueno oprunitida. Utah es muy frio y Mexico es perfecto entonecs eso mucho bueno. I miss you guys but everything is going great here, I will have better stories for you next week!

Week Three

Hellloooo, soo now in the MTC we have two invesgators and that is going pretty well. I can talk with and understand my investigators but still don't know real not church words. The temple is closed for the rest of my MTC stay so I have like 4 extra hours on my P day now. Today I am heading up to Salt Lake to get visa stuff done. I have 3 Sundays left here, but this Sunday there will be new zone leaders and district leaders so I might become one of those. We get to see an apostle speak onThanksgiving and have like some special program all day. Thanks for the packages! Will you be sending my Christmas stuff while I am in the MTC? I hope you can find the songs I requested. Umm how was thanksgiving? Tell the family I say hola, Is everything good at home? The eye drops you sent are awesome, they make your eyes feel like they are frozen so we often have our ZLs take then when the come and visit and that is always super funny. All that is on my wish list for this week is a silver and a gold tie clip, all my ties are too short so I need those. Thanks for the letters and I hope you guys are doing good!

Also sorry for asking for so much.... but a shoe horn should be nice :D

Second Week

So life is still good, me and my companion are getting along great and my district is awesome. Spanish is still coming and umm yeah. The food here is good but it destroys your digestive system, and so they now have us doing gym in these huge bubbles that are gyms on the inside, but so they have 0 oxygen in them and they have a higher air pressure than the outside world and so your ears explode when you walk in so that is fun. And let's seee we now have two invesgators to teach instead of 1. I enjoyed your family mission plan my district thought it was funny as well. My companion is awesome he is super funnny and thanks for the dear elders and packages. That tie is freaking sweet and pro tip more snacky instead of desert foods are preferred. We get plenty of desert/food here but P day and before bed snacks are the best. That would be cool. And for Christmas you should send me stuff here and I would like a CD player with nice but small speakers and some good cds, no lyrical stuff, but hymns are awesome. So cool hymn cds would be awesome and to specific songs I want are a sweet version of be still my soul and savior my redeemer( which isn't a hymn but I have faith in you). But so the mtc is still awesome, feeling the spirit 24/7 is awesome, and the Sunday and Tuesday devotionals are always awesome, hope you guys are doing well!

P.S all my pictures are from my camera, its super good! thank you! OH and so there are these eye drops call like cool/ice/frozen and I would like some of them if possible because I worry about my eyes sometimes with me wearing contacts all the time, but yeah bye!

First Week

So this was my first week at the MTC! or the CCM as we call it in Spanish. So I am on the new western MTC is very different from the main campus, everything is based around apartments. So I sleep in a apartment with my companion and the two other elders in my district and the our classroom is just on apartment room with 8 desks in it and a computer. It gets super hot in there but it isnt super bad. Spanish is hard but I can understand most things just cant speak very well. I have already had 4 lessons with my first investigator Eloy IN SPANISH, the first lesson went horrible but after that we got much better. My companion's name is Elder Rios, him as well as our entire district only have a small Spanish background. We have 4 Elders and 4 hermanas in our district, the other day was super hard on some of the hermanans and I gave one of them a blessing with the other elders. So every tuesday and sunday there are firesides/devotionals and some of the west campus gets to walk for like 20 min to go to main campus to see the talks live. So yesterday L. Tom Perry came and spoke which was pretty neat. Thanks for the Dear Elders and yeah I hope you guys are doing good! Annnddd the food is pretty good here, and all the juice you can drink which is awesome. My district is awesome and umm so if I could get a care package containing my blue and green blanket, maybe a purple tie and recharagable AA batteries and I think thats it...... but yeah that would be perfecto! And thanks for the birthday present! and Dear Elder snacks would be appericated every once in a while :D
