Dogs here are crazy

So this week was awesome! WE FINALLY HAD SOMEONE IN CHURCH!!!! WHOOOHOOOOO, but yeah our investigator Juana finally was able to attend this week! And also this week was divisions so I hung out with my district leader all day on Tuesday and led the area, in lessons, in walking, in planning, studying, it was awesome! I loved it soooooo much, and let's see, crazy week of trying to find out who is who in the area book and then trying to find them, but yeah everything is going great! I cleaned our shower really good this morning so that it actually drains water now, but yeah everything is great. In like 2 days is my 4 month mark which is crazy, it had gone by soooo fast. So my first week here my comp told me how I would start to hate dogs in my mission, but I didn't believe him, But he was totally right the dogs here are crazy, and always want to fight me, and attached is a picture of a crazy dog! but yeah everything is great here, I hope you guys are doing good also!

Q and A

David,
I have questions for you. Maybe you have time to answer today.

1. How do you cook when you have no power for 3 days? Do you have flashlights?
2. What is your ward like? How big is it? Do you have to teach any classes?
3. What is your daily schedule like? Do you have to be awake at a certain time?
4. The photos of the city look like it is dry and dusty. True?
5. What do you usually eat for meals?
6. What is your apartment building like? Are there several floors? I think I've only seen the roof.
7. Do you study the scriptures in Spanish also?

Answers:
-Yeah so in the mornings I usually eat cereal and yogurt, but I tried to make a smart decision by buying powdered milk for this change because all the milk here is powdered milk anyways, but that was a bad choice because its freaking gross, but I use it anyways. and we don't eat dinner so we don't cook much!
-My ward is huge! like 500 people! but like only 70 are active so that is a bummer, and yeah sometimes i help teach classes, but really we need the members to do stuff because they do nothing..
-yeah so my schedule is wake up at 6:30 everyday, take a cold shower (because our boiler doesn't work) find food, and then I start studying at about 7.30. and from 7.30 or 8 to 9 is personal study. 9 to 10 is comp study. 10 to 11 is training. and 11 to 12 is language study. Then every day we walk like 4 kilometers or like 8 miles. then visit people all day, but at 2 everyday we have lunch with a member. and then home at like 8.30 to 9.30 planning for the next day and then sleeping at 10.30
-yeah it is super dry and dusty, I have to clean my shoes like 10000 times a day because of it
-normally umm like soup, taquietos, pink rice, beans, meats. and a ton of tortillas
-so we have a house, it is two floors (which is really big for Mexico, like hugeee) and freaking huge so we are trying to get a new one, and it isn't in our area so I don't even understand why we live there, it is super far away, but in a pretty safe area so that is nice
-and yeah i study everything in Spanish!

The Lord's Time

So this week was sweet! Elder Christian of the 70 came and talked with us in a mission conference, so that was awesome, and I got to see all my friends from the MTC! There are a bunch of new mission rules and standards, but really I was thinking about it and I will just do whatever they want me to because really this isn't my time this is the Lord's. With that mind set everything is okay, but our new goals are gonna be hard to reach! We need to have 50 contacts, 60 lessons, and a baptism every week! Whooo hoooo, but I believe we can do it - my comp on the other hand is a little less believing, but its all good. Umm que mas... Oh, so I can have conversations now, which is really nice. I finally feel like a missionary! But yeah our area is doing good, we are working hard, trying to do our best! For me this week was just a testimony of when we are doing what we need to, the Lord will always provide and help us. Anyways, I hope you guys are swell!

It was bad, but it was good

Sooo this was a good but difficult week. Soooo many lessons fell through, but it is all good! Below is pictured my desk with a super sweet Mexican towel/cloth thing which a contact we made on Saturday just gave me, even though it's like 1000$ pesos, and the other picture is when me and my comp walked allllll the way to like the end of Saltillo to find an investigator and he wasn't home :/, but at least I got a sweet picture! Also this week we blew the fuses in our house so we lived in the dark for about 3 days which was awesome because we just got to go to bed way earlier because it was impossible to plan.

But so our investigator Dan who is doing rather well, is really cool. He really likes reading the BOM but currently has some doubts because alot of the things in his faith are contradicted with our messages, but we are encouraging him to pray, so hopefully all with go good with him. But I hope you guys are doing great!

Apostle Visit

This week was awesome! We finally have some really intrested invesgators, and they are doing really awesome. We are teaching a evangelist, a pentacostic (I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SPELL THAT) and a bunch of catholics. But umm so those are going well except nadie [noone] went to church this week, but thats okay, and alot of searching for new investigators right now. But our ward is starting to gear up for missionary work, we had a stake conference where 2 apostles and other general authorties spoke and that inspired our ward alot.

Umm funny story so we have been trying to fix up our house, because we have to kick in our door a few weeks ago because we were locked out, and when my companion was fixing our door with glue, we were told to use a flame to help the glue dry faster, but instead it just exploded in flames and filled our house with smoke which was great. Then we had to fix our sink, so we needed to turn off our water, so we scaled our house and my comp got stuck on the roof so I had to ask our neighbor to use his ladder, it was pretty great, but yeah I hope you guys are doing great!!
